For those of you who don't know I decided this past semester I wanted to go on a summer project with CRU, a student ministry on campus, to San Diego California. I have had the privilege of hearing stories and testimonies from friends and family about how amazing summer projects are. I wanted to be able to invest the summers I have left for something that will matter. This summer I will have the opportunity to grow in my walk with God along with over a hundred other college students, through the jobs we will get, the people we meet and the chance to challenge one another using all of our unique strengths. Even though I only know a handful of the students going, I can already tell there are a lot of different personalities on the team, and I am so excited to meet them all and see how we can all work together.
I have spent the past semester raising support to be able to go on this trip. Through raising support I have realized that God has begun to work before the project even started. I have seen God provide financially in many different situations throughout my life, through family and friends, and raising support for this trip was another time I have gotten to see God provide above and beyond what I have needed. I am so thankful for the people that provided so generously to me their money as well as their commitment to pray for me and the other students while we are on this project.
I want to share with so many people all that God does during the summer, which is why I decided to start this blog. As much as I would love to talk one on one with everyone during the summer I know that just won't be possible. If you would like to know what is going on this summer in San Diego stay tuned and I'll be doing my best to update you all on the amazing things that happen and specific things you can pray for during the trip. For now prayers for safe travel, a smooth transition and a continued excitement and passion for the experience as a whole would be great! See ya in San Diego! :)
